The following is a story sent to us by a happy eGO customer.
"There is no reason to own a car once you own an eGO"
- Don G. - Hillsborough, NJ
It is time to think out of the box when it comes to travel. As Steven Wright said, "everything is within walking distance if you have the time" When one analyzes the trips taken in a car, 95% or more can be accomplished by another means. The eGO is my third electric vehicle. Sure wish I knew about the eGO before I bought my first two. Not only is driving the eGO great fun, it is an unbelievable savings using it. I am retired and on a fixed income. With the baskets, I do all my shopping, go to the airport, and run all my errands on the eGO. In New Jersey where we have the highest auto insurance in the nation, there is no reason to own a car once you own an eGO. I average 18 miles per day on my eGO. At my weight, 210 lbs, I get 17 mph in the "go far" mode and 22 mph in the "go fast" mode. I sold one of my electric vehicles an hour after receiving my eGO to someone who will keep it on his boat for when he pulls into a marina and the other is up for sale. On those, the best I could do was 12 mph.
My neighbor and I left the same time for the supermarket. He was in his car and I was on the eGo. I was in the store a full 5 minutes before him. First, he was in slow traffic, which I zipped around on the shoulder, and then he had to find a parking space. I parked on the sidewalk in front of the store.
My daughter and son-in-law who live in Virginia each own an eGO. My son-in-law goes to his business everyday on his and my daughter does 98% of her running around on hers. She even has your trailer and does all her food shopping for a family of five on the eGO.They own three cars; a couple Vespa's and motorcycles. They have more fun on the eGo's. Just in gasoline savings on her Suburban, the eGO paid for itself in 4 months. As she said, "If they ever make a Rickshaw, she would even take the kids to school on it".
I have three goals. One, to tell everyone I see the benefits of owning an eGO. Two, an eGO trip across the United States meeting other eGO owners along the way. Three, winning the lottery, hiring a ground crew and crossing the United States on the back roads on my eGO.
