The following is a story sent to us by a happy eGO customer.
"The eGO is designed and built for day in and day out use."
- Robert S., Freemont, CA
I've been an avid eGO 2 rider for about 8 months. I originally got interested in eGO and e-vehicles when a medical condition temporally caused a driving restriction. The electric bikes were very attractive in giving me back some mobility.
The difficulty was finding one that would make the range of my commute, which is 19 miles one way and do it in a reasonable time. eGO was one of the few manufactures to claim they could support the range. More importantly, during my inquiry into the purchase, eGO offered to add an extended range pack pre-wired to ensure I could make the range.
The eGO 2 has lived up to its claims and then some. I routinely make the 19-mile commute, recharge and make it home without worrying about range. I run full throttle in the go-fast mode. My commute time is about an hour, with about 10 minutes lost at stoplights. The terrain is mainly flat. I've now since have gotten back to driving, but still take the bike in when ever possible weather permitting. Being in Northern California, this means most of the year. To cut down the chill on the cooler days, I've added a fairing designed for SWB recumbent. This hasn't helped my top speed any, but does drastically reduce the amount of air hitting your body. This helps on the days where there is a cold headwind.
eGO customer support has been outstanding. They have been very open about answering any questions I've had. For the few minor problems I've had, they have helped troubleshoot my problem.
The build quality of the bikes is outstanding. I have ridden some other manufactures bike of good quality, but there is a lot of junk being sold out there. Don't even bother to look at anything being sold at your local automotive stores. They are just toys. The eGO is in a different class in quality and durability. The eGO is designed and built for day in and day out use.
